User Review - Flag as inappropriate

I read this "back in the day", the 70's that is, and I read it again about 30 years later.
It's about a political climate that is both scary because it's controlling and it's scary because I can
see so many roads that we are on today with "big government" policies that are in this book.
It's as though Ira Levin had an uncanny ability to see what was and project what it would grow into in the future.
I certainly hope he missed his mark!
I find myself thinking of this book often, and it's been nearly 40 years since I first read it.
It truly is up there with Orwell's 1984 and Future Shock and Logan's Run.
